What is the latest news?
Download Mirror of development base (thanks to Eric)
thorough test would be appreciated before we progress
http://coblitz.codeen.org/www.puppylinux.ca/ttuuxxx/ecopup/puppy-214-remaster.iso
This is in the form of a revised 2.14r ISO with the following enhancements

What are the goals?
# Easily install to USB, Zip or hard drive media.
# Booting from CD (or DVD), the CD drive is then free for other purposes.
# Booting from CD (or DVD), save everything back to the CD.
# Booting from USB Flash drive, minimise writes to extend the life indefinitely.
# Extremely friendly for Linux newbies.
# Boot up and run extraordinarily fast.
# Have all the applications needed for daily use.
# Will just work, no hassles.
# Will breathe new life into old PCs
# Load and run totally in RAM for diskless thin stations

Work that needs to be done before the features (bootsplash, windows document folders etc) are added?

"There are 2 experienced developers who have agreed to prepare this, on top of the work already done by the venerable Tempestious/Pakt/Dougal. The latter have indicated they are currently adding a updated and more comprehensive driver pack, along with updated NTFS support. It would be nice to make the changes to this, but I have yet to hear back when this will be available. If those devleopers would like to progress in the meantime and build a first alpha, perhaps these updates can be added later)" Robert

"I have asked Ttuxxx (an accomplished packer) to put together a few minor tweaks and app changes to 2.14r which he says he will be doing when he has a window in the next week from his work. Then I will be asking the various feature co-ordinators from the threads marked TS3.03ce to add their packages and wizards to this base. Ive cleared the decks in terms of my (ecomoney's) other work, and will be full-time on the job from now on until it is completed." Robert
