highlight the flite link and then go to Menu / internet / xwget
http://users.ecs.soton.ac.uk/wmd04r/puppy/flite-1.3.pet
and middle mouse button to paste
(I got garbage when trying to download from http / browser)
restart x (not required if using icewm) and use flite test.txt from the console - where test.txt is a text file of what you want flite to say.
or direct from console
flite "A sentence to speak."

    It allows a user that has trained the program to launch programs from the commandline
    say "Dillo" and Dillo will open say "abiword" and it opens (it is not perfect and is user dependent)
