In using Puppy Linux, I've found it to be one of the most simple, fun, and flexible solutions for many issues. It's tiny, fast, and reliable. It's scalable (to a point). To top it off, it has a cute lil' pup for a mascot.

"I've been using linux since 1996 and exclusively since 2000 and I am amazed at puppy!" Bill Alex

"I just wanted to thank Barry and everyone else involved for creating the best OS distribution. I have been using it for around sixteen weeks and I just love it.

About a year or so ago I was getting fed up with the various problems with Windoze XP and I googled "Alternatives to Windows" and the world of Linux was revealed. At first I just installed Firefox and OpenOffice on XP but I started to read and try some live distributions. They all looked good but they were too slow as a live CD. I installed Ubuntu but I was unable to get my PCMCIA and internal modem to work. I tried twice to do a dual boot installation of Ubuntu with XP but it failed right at the end for some reason. I tried DSL as a live CD but I was unable to save my settings and setting things up wasn't easy and it couldn't write to NTFS.

Then I tried Puppy 2.13. Everything worked straight away, Amazing! It detected my PCMCIA modem (not my internal modem however). Setting up the dialup connection was the easiest ever, much easier than XP. I was able to save settings, and I could access read and write to my NTFS drive. I was up and running using Linux and connected to the internet very quickly without any problems. Yet I still had my XP installation if I wanted to use it. Which isn't very often but I sometimes still need to use it.

I love that I can download a complete and useable OS, with many useful applications included, quicker than I can download a Windose service pack. I never used to shut my computer down with M$ unless I had to, it took so long to shut down and restart. Now I shutdown all the time, no big deal starting up again. This saves power and probably wear and tear on my computer.

I wasn't looking forward to Vista because I knew my four year old notebook would become redundant even though it is still in good condition. But now I can avoid buying a new computer. I'll Keep XP, get a SP2 disk, update AVG grisoft antivirus occassionally and run Puppy from CD with the firewall. No more computer rebuilds every six months. No Windose updates.

Puppy Linux can do a lot tasks out of the box without any add ons. Any application I need is easily downloaded with dial up connection and they all start, run and save so fast.

This is what computing for the masses should be all about, simple and easy. Thanks again Barry for making computing fun, less expensive, less annoying, more educational and empowering."

"I am competely impressed by puppy, from the ease of configuring wireless via the GUI tools to the crispness of the fonts and the GUI to the speed with which puppy runs. I have been using Linux for about 11 years. I have gone through many Distros. I have known about puppy for a few years. I really did not think such a small distro would be THIS GOOD!

The setup tools are awesome. I find it incredible that such a small specialty Linux distro could nail GUI config tools so well.

I am wondering why many newbies would want to run a mainstream distro like Ubuntu etc. etc. when puppy is so easy and could potentially meet their needs so well." Sabo

"First off, Thanks Barry. This is one sweet little Puppy. I downloaded this OS to my Windblows desk top, and burned an ISO image to a CD/RW disc using Nero Burning. Rebooted and changed BIOS to boot from CDROM. BOW WOW! booted right up. It's fast and it's fun! This is nice little OS and it was so easy. Again, thanks." Harvey
