Use FTP

Try gftp (it's included with all recent puppy's)
UsingFTP

Make a Log in Password of Sorts

Note: The default password for Puppy is blank.

Edit the file: /root/.xinitrc

At the very end of the file add this "Xlock" line just before the existing last statement:
/usr/local/apps/Xlock/AppRun &
exec $CURRENTWM

Xlock will ask for a password the first time it runs and it should keep it for next time.
Run Xlock now to set the password before you boot again. There should be an icon for Xlock on the desktop.
Xlock will now run automatically on boot-up and lock the screen with a password
