Let it never be said that pups don't care about you, the user. Puppy has been designed to be easier than almost any Linux (under 500mb) we have a forum that is normally friendly (full of humans that are normally, friendly) a subforum just for beginners: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/index.php?f=2∞ and one for reporting bugs: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/index.php?f=10∞ (although we usually consider a bug something that behaves differently than we expect, vs....) and one for suggestions for things to add or change about Puppy: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/index.php?f=5∞
Grafpup (http://grafpup.com∞) is a derivative of Puppy that will be fully multiuser in the not-too-distant future.
Alternatively, you can pm amish of the Complaints and Concerns Department on the forum: http://murga-linux.com/puppy∞ who won't mind if Puppy is really frustrating you, but who has yet to patch any kernels or work other miracles- Yet you have choices, and that's what Puppy is all about :)
If you have a technical question it may not necessarily be a complaint, and there are several places to post to at the forum, for people new to Linux, old to Linux, and in between. Hope we can help, and sorry if we can't. Puppy is good, does get better, sometimes it's just a matter of time. Until then, good luck, don't give up! Maybe wait 'till tomorrow.

A few common things that come up:
Yes, Puppy complies with the GPL. The Free Software Foundation
http://fsf.org∞ even says so.
Can Puppy compile?
Yes, Puppy needs an extra file to compile, it's about the size of Puppy itself (Puppy is only about 70mb) so it's not included by default.
Can Puppy run as root?
Yes. can it run as root.
What it can't do is run entirely NOT as root... there is a user called "Spot" that can be used to run apps such as, say... a browser.
Grafpup (
http://grafpup.com∞) is a derivative of puppy that will be fully multiuser in the not-too-distant future.
Can i join the Foundation?

Okay, this is a lot of hype, I don't believe it at all. Is Puppy even any good?
It's not hype, it's a matter of opinion. A lot of people love Puppy. It's been in the top 20 at distrowatch. We love Puppy, and you might too. If you don't, hey, no hard feelings. Puppy isn't for everyone, although some of us really do think it's the best OS we've seen before.
The Complaints and Concerns Department was setup to give you a place to complain to. Note that we can not solve all your problems, and if it were possible to, we would have already. But, we do care. In fact that's part of the point of creating the department in the first place.
We take complaints, give advice when we can, and determine what is bothering people most about Puppy. We will address developers with the top complaints, who will then take them into consideration (as we are so polite about it.) We *absolutely cannot* ask them to make Puppy something that isn't really cool, however. There are alternatives to Puppy if you are looking for something that is less cool. Nonetheless, tell us your idea if you feel no one has heard you.
Note also that this is not the only avenue for complaints, it's just one that exists if you need it. Puppy Developers are some of the nicer, more patient developers we've seen. Offer them the patience you'd have from them, and you should be fine.
