Chubby Puppy is a release of the standard Puppy Live CD, but with the OpenOffice.org office suite pre-installed. To date there have been two versions of Chubby Puppy, 1.0.4 and 1.0.5. Chubby Puppy is around 90 megabytes while the standard Puppy is about 60 megabytes in size. To the best of DanVW's knowledge, this is the smallest Linux distribution offering OpenOffice.org pre-installed. OpenOffice.org is also noticeably faster when ran from Puppy since everything is loaded into RAM at boot. But the larger size of this release means that the system requirements increase also. Chubby will work on PCs with 128 MB RAM, however 256 MB is recommended. Either 128 MB plus an available Linux swap partition or 256 MB is required for Puppy to load totally into ramdisk.
